Hide & Seek 4D – State College, PA – Ribbon Cutting

Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony to Celebrate

“Hide and Seek Prenatal Peek” Grand Opening

3D/4D Prenatal Ultrasound Studio Opening

Bellefonte, PA — Hide and Seek Prenatal Peek is excited to announce that it will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its grand opening on April 8th, 2017 at 12:00 pm at its new location at 610 Willowbank Street, Bellefonte, PA 16823.

The ceremony will celebrate the fact that this is the first 3D/4D Elective Ultrasound Prenatal Imaging studio to open in Centre County, and a long term career goal for the owner, Jennifer Miller. The occasion will also serve to recognize the many individuals that gave of their time and talents to make this dream business come to fruition. The organizations that will be acknowledged for their dedication to making this business possible will be:

SBDC (Small Business Development Center)                       Kish Bank

SCORE (Counselors to America’s Small Business)               Ultrasound Trainers, Inc.

The State College Chamber of Commerce                               Speedy Furniture

Studio 216 Interior Design (Matthew Martinez)                   Becky Weaver Design

Victorian Signs                                                                               Angie Fisher Photography

Hide and Seek Prenatal Peek is a 3D/4D Elective Ultrasound prenatal imaging studio that will offer an exceptional bonding experience for parents-to-be through the use of the latest and greatest 3D/4D/HD technology. They will have the ability to view their precious baby on a brand new Samsung Medison A35 Ultrasound machine in the comfort of a beautiful facility. An added benefit will be that the client may bring as many family and friends as they would like to enjoy their experience. While services like early gender reveal are a big attraction for 3D/4D businesses like this, many families also appreciate the opportunity for bonding,  and providing a wonderful space for families to enjoy the beautiful 3D/4D experience. All clients who call for an appointment will be given a highly customized session along with beautifully detailed 3D images of their baby to take with them. Since there are only a few times in life a family may have a new addition, Hide and Seek Prenatal Peek will offer them the opportunity to get their baby’s heartbeat captured and recorded into a “heartbeat” bear that they can listen to for years to come. The Hide and Seek studio was created to be  a  “comfy, cozy, warm, and inviting” space. It is a place where families can “nest”. They can intimately interact with their unborn child and enjoy  the pregnancy process and seeing their baby’s little personality come to life. The owner and creator of Hide and Seek Prenatal Peek, Jennifer Miller,  had many reasons she wanted to offer these services to the Centre Region. Her biggest reason for opening a 3D/4D studio was demand. “I had so many friends, family, and co-workers  over the years encourage me to open a studio so families would have a place locally they could go.

Historically, 3D/4D ultrasound services  have only been offered in larger metropolitan areas. Until 1986, the only ultrasound option was a 2-dimensional image which did not include volume. So the old black and white  profile images which were grainy images with little visible details have now been replaced with high quality 3D images that can showcase a glimpse of what the baby actually looks like. Once the crude beginnings of 3-Dimensional ultrasound were established, the technology grew its detail, precision, and quality. Now the technology has even grown to include a 4th dimension….movement. and when you add in the HD scanning, it blows your mind of being able to see even the most detailed facial expressions.  The industry for elective 3D/4D/HD ultrasound has exploded over time because you only get a few chances to make such special memories. People are learning to live it up and enjoy what the technology has grown to be….a phenomenal bonding experience. A family can actually watch in real time as their baby kicks, yawns, and waves hello.

Now, these families have this memorable experience offered close to home.  I absolutely love my job and when it comes to bonding, that is the area of ultrasound that I really excel in. There is nothing more satisfying to me than watching expectant parents and siblings bond with their new baby. It just makes my heart soar! ” This is such an exciting time for Hide and Seek Prenatal Peek. We already have families calling to schedule appointments, so if you are interested in setting up a 3D/4D session, please call (814)441-0188 or email jen@hideandseek4d.com.

Our 3D Ultrasound training covers both the  clinical and technical concepts of 3D/4D ultrasound. During the training major emphasis is placed on hands-on scanning to swiftly develop 3D and 4D scanning skills.

Our trainers are highly trained in 3D/4D Ultrasound applications on  a variety of ultrasound machines.

Ultrasound Training Program

General

As the Leader in 3D/4D Ultrasound Training, Ultrasound Trainers is aware of the necessity for 3D & 4D ultrasound training within our elective prenatal ultrasound imaging community. Our goal is to provide the ultrasound professional, as well as the potential 3D/4D ultrasound professional, with a confident foundation from which to build upon as they begin to incorporate 3D & 4D ultrasounds into their practice.

Since 2005, Ultrasound Trainers has grown to become the largest independent 3D/4D ultrasound training company worldwide. We offer more courses, at more times and in more locations than any other 3D & 4D ultrasound business training company. Businesses and individuals can choose from private hands-on training, delivered by experts, and offered virtually anywhere around the world. We currently have training studios in Tennessee, California, Ohio, and in the United Kingdom. We can also provide training at your location if you wish.

During the training significant emphasis is placed on hands-on scanning of actual pregnant patients to promptly develop 3D & 4D ultrasound scanning skills.

Current Sonographers

As many sonographers know, 3D & 4D ultrasound concepts and practices are not taught within many degree or certificate programs that are out there. Ultrasound Trainers has taken the initiative and filled this educational gap, and offers training that is geared toward the ultrasound professional. Whether you are looking to expand the capabilities and services offered at your current office, or looking to transition into the 3D/4D elective ultrasound market, Ultrasound Trainers has a program that will suit your needs. Training for a current sonographer can typically be achieved in one to two days.

Non-Sonographers

We have found that many people are reluctant to open a 3D/4D ultrasound studio due to the fear that they will not be able to perform the ultrasound correctly. Ultrasound Trainers has taken the guess work out of performing 3D/4D ultrasounds. Our training is all hands-on, with live patients as well as ultrasound phantoms. After completing our training you will be able to successfully perform both 2D and 3D/4D elective ultrasounds. Training for a non-sonographer can typically be achieved in four to five days.

Ultrasound Machine Apps Training

We not only specialize in 3D/4D Ultrasounds, but we also specialize in all ultrasound machine apps trainings. Have you purchased a machine, but have no idea who to fully function it? WE can help you! Typcaiily all you will need is a 1/2 to a full days of hands on training at your location. With this training we help you set up your machine as well as show you how to operate your specific ultrasound machine.

What is a 3D ultrasound?

INTRODUCTION

While reading of the same across the board each machine will have its own controls and buttons. So it is important to remember that learning the meaning behind the controls and buttons will help you when you use different equipment. Terminology controls and this may refer mostly to the GE Voluson 730 PRO.

Manipulation of three data sets is simple, if you can train your brain to think 3D.

What is 3D ultrasound?

2D = acquisition of two dimensional information

3D = acquisition by three and a motorized scanning techniques to display:

Volume rendered image

Surface rendering image

Sectional images

4D Ultrasound = “Real Time” 3D – continuous display of the 3D images

Physics of 3D Ultrasound

  1. Acquisition of the 3D data set – 3D data is usually acquired as a large number of consecutive, tomographic images through the movement of a 3D ultrasound probe, using their automatic method acquisition
  2. Construction of the 3D data set – tomographic images obtained must be constructed into a 3-D data set and processed by the machines software. 2D images are composed of pixels, 3D data sets are composed of a set of volume elements each of which have a gray scale
  3. Volume – visualization of the data.

Acquisition of 3D data

3D data is usually acquired as a large number of consecutive tomographic images through the movement of a 3D ultrasound probe. These “tomograms” are digitized and loaded into the machines software program, along with positional information to build the volume of data.

Motorized acquisition

Transducers that support 3D image acquisition require you to hold the transducer in a fixed location during acquisition.

Construction of the 3D data set

The tomographic slices obtain through the image acquisition must be constructed three-dimensionally into a 3D data set for further computer processing.

The 3D data set is composed of a set of volume elements, which are basically a three dimensional representation of the pixels. Each body element defines a point in three-dimensional space with an X, Y, & Z coordinates. That this lady can be minute deleted in the same manner as pixels and can also be changed by manipulation of texture transparency and brightness controls.

Volume visualization of the data

The 3D data must be processed by the computer to be displayed on the monitor. There are three main rendering models commonly used. For 3D/4D elective ultrasound we use the surface rendering mode. Surface rendering is when we show the face or body part as if it was a “photo.”

Durham 4D Baby, a 3D/4D Elective Ultrasound Studio in Durham, NC is located near: Graham, Mebame, Efland, Hillsborough, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville, Apex, Garner, New Hill, Holly Springs, Pittsboro, Butner, Wake Forest, Knightdale, Greensboro, Clayton, and Sanford.

What is the difference between 3D ultrasound and 4D ultrasound?
3D is a still image while 4D adds the dimension of motion so it looks like a video.

What is your facility like?
We pride ourselves on being an inviting, relaxing, comfortable, and spacious environment for you and your family. We are also located in an up-scale retail location rather than sterile looking office buildings.

Is 3D and 4D ultrasound safe for me and my baby?
3D and 4D ultrasound use the same frequency as your doctor uses in the normal 2D ultrasound. Ultrasounds have been used for over 35 years and there have been no proven side effects from its proper use. We strictly adhere to the FDA’s standards.

Do you accept insurance?
No, we do not accept insurance because this is an elective procedure.

When is the best time to have a 3d/4d ultrasound?
That depends on what you are looking to see. Many mothers like coming in twice, early on, 15-26 weeks, when they can see the baby as a whole, and then again at 25-34 weeks to see a more detailed face. Between 28 and 32 weeks, your baby develops more fat and gets a more defined face. After 34 weeks, it becomes more and more difficult to obtain good pictures since the baby is running out of room. However all babies are different and we have been successful in obtaining great images all the way up to 39 weeks. Feel free to CLICK HERE to view our Best Scan Ultrasound Calendar to help determine when the best time to come in for your ultrasound is.

How good are you at determining the sex of the baby?
At 15 weeks we can determine the gender with a very high accuracy. If you are over 15 weeks and the gender can not be seen, we invite you back for a weekday return appointment and we will rescan you for free within the next 14 days. The need for a return visit is usually due to the baby’s position.

How can I be sure to get the best possible 3D/4D pictures?
Most doctors recommend maintaining a healthy fluid intake, especially while you are pregnant. This will help to ensure your amniotic fluid is clear as well as full. There are many things out of the sonographer’s control like the baby’s position, the mother’s skin type and build, amount of amniotic fluid, etc.

What should I do prior to the 3D/4D appointment?
Drink plenty of water even several days before your appointment to ensure your amniotic fluid is clear. About a half hour before your 3D/4D ultrasound scan, try to drink a fruit juice so that your baby will be awake during your session (unless you are told not to by your physician).

How long is the 3D/4D ultrasound session?
Depending on the ultrasound package that you select, your session will last between 10 and 25 minutes. However, plan on spending 30 minutes to an hour at our studio so that we can send you home with memories to last a life time. It is best to arrive a few minutes early to fill out our paperwork.

Are family and friends welcome to join?
Yes! We encourage you to bring your friends and family to share this special moment with you. Children are also welcome and we provide them with plenty of toys and books to keep them entertained. At our Durham, NC location our ultrasound room can comfortably seat 10 plus people, but more are welcome if they would like to stand and watch. The ultrasound is projected onto a 120 inch screen so that everyone is able to see with ease.

How can I pay for the ultrasound?
We currently accept major credit/debit cards and cash.

When do I get my 3D/4D pictures and videos?
Less than 5 minutes after your session has ended.

Will my doctor be contacted about the 3d/4d ultrasound?
We do not contact your doctor prior to the scan since this is an elective procedure. If we do see something wrong during the scan, we contact your doctor and send her the report. We do require however that you currently are under prenatal care and if you have any concerns, you should ask your doctor. Ultrasound technicians in general cannot make a diagnosis.

Will I always get great images of my baby?
Most of the time we are able to get great images, but not always. Sometimes if the baby is looking face down toward mom’s spine we are unable to get images, or if the baby is laying against the placenta. Every baby scans differently, depending on its gestational age, position, amount of fluid, and mother’s condition. We promise to make every effort to obtain the best possible images of whatever parts of the baby that can be seen.

What will determine quality of the images?
Fetal position is the number one determination of how your image quality. Some babies come ready for viewing and great images are obtained. Others simply turn their back or cuddle up to the placenta or the uterine wall or insist on putting their hands and feet in front of their face. We will try hard to make your baby move in order to see and image the face. Drinking juice or eating a little candy may help the baby move a little on that day of imaging.

What can I do to improve the images of my ultrasound?
WATER! is the best answer to how to improve your images. You should be drinking plenty of water beginning at least 7 days before your scheduled appointment. Water can improve the quality of an ultrasound.

What if we are not able to get images?
It is our number one priority at Durham 4D Baby to obtain the absolute best images of your baby & make sure you are satisfied to the fullest. We use the top of the line ultrasound equipment to ensure this, however, some factors that determine the outcome of your ultrasound are out of our control such as: location of your placenta, the amount of amniotic fluid surrounding your baby, the clarity of the amniotic fluid, the baby’s position, & the overall fetal environment. If we are unable to determine the gender of your child or obtain 3D/4D images at your scheduled appointment due to these factors mentioned above, you will be asked to reschedule & come back for a second appointment within the next 14 days at no charge.

What if my baby is breech?
Breech position is when the baby’s head is located at the top of your uterus & feet are down. If you do know that your baby is breech prior to your 3D/4D ultrasound, we do advise you to reschedule your appointment a few weeks later to allow more time for the baby to turn. Good pictures can be obtained with breech babies, but they not guaranteed & are much more likely if the baby is head down. However some babies remain breech until very late in the pregnancy or never turn, if this is the case you can still do a 3D/4D ultrasound and we should be able to get good images if you have plenty of amniotic fluid.

If I am overweight will I be able to get clear ultrasound images?
If you are overweight you should not be afraid to have a 4D elective ultrasound, however we strongly urge that you wait until after 30 weeks gestation to give the baby time to obtain more fat on their face. If you are overweight you will need to have a VERY high level of amniotic fluid to obtain clear images of the baby. If you drink the recommend amount of water in the weeks leading up to your appointment there is no reason you should not be able to obtain great images!

Why are ultrasounds performed?

An ultrasound exam is medically indicated throughout pregnancy for the following reasons:

  • Measure the crown-rump length
  • Determine estimated due date
  • Confirm molar or ectopic pregnancies
  • Assess abnormal gestation

Second Trimester:

  • Diagnose fetal malformation
    • 13-14 weeks for characteristics of potential Down syndrome
    • 18-22 weeks for congenital malformations
  • Structural abnormalities
  • Confirm multiples pregnancy
  • Verify dates and growth
  • Identify hydramnios or oligohydramnios –(excessive or reduced levels of amniotic fluid)

Third Trimester:

  • Identify placenta location
  • Observe fetal presentation
  • Observe fetal movements
  • Check fetal growth
  • Identify uterine and pelvic abnormalities of the mother

Samsung A35 – HD Ultrasound Machine

The brand new Samsung A35 is a mid-upper range color Doppler ultrasound from Samsung Medison. It replaces the Accuvix A30 ultrasound machine, adding a 23″ High Resolution LED monitor, S-Vue ultrasound transducers, and improved image quality. It features good cardiac and radiology and is well known for its solid 4d imaging.

The A35 is Samsung’s newest HD ultrasound machine that is both budget friendly as well gives you the ability to offer great images to your clients without sacrifice. Much like it’s predecessor the A30 the new A35 offers the same options with greater image quality.

Ergonomically, the A35 features a height adjustable console, high resolution LED monitor display and easy to read touch menu for a more comfortable scanning experience.

The Samsung Medison A35 features the Hybrid Beamforming engine, which uses software in addition to hardware beamforming in order to produce a more precise and accurate image. Traditionally, the ultrasound relied solely on hardware to interpret the ultrasound signals. This provides more precise transmission and reception of the ultrasound signal, resulting in exceptional image clarity.

  • Innovative 3D/4D Imaging Technologies for Exceptional Detail and Realistic Depth Perception
  • ADVR Advanced Digital recorder
  • 23″ Full HD LED Display Monitor for Excellent Clarity, Color and Contrast Resolution
  • S-Vue™ Transducers Deliver Wider Bandwidths for Increased Depth Penetration and Higher Quality Resolution

S-VueTM Transducer

In addition to the advanced beamforming capabilities,
the A35 incorporates the next-generation single-crystal probe technology called S-VueTM transducers. Employing an innovative crystal design, S-VueTM transducers provide more efficient piezoelectric properties, resulting in wider bandwidths for increased depth penetration and higher quality resolution on even the most challenging of patients.

FRVTM (Feto Realistic View)

Displays high resolution 3D anatomy with exceptional detail and realistic depth perception. User-selectable light source direction creates intricate graduated shadows to better define anatomical structures.

HD Volume ImagingTM

Reduces specular artifacts throughout the volume data set, enhancing border detection and contract resolution in both rendered images and multiplanar display.

ADVRTM

Advanced Digital Video Recorder allows for recording live streaming video of the ultrasound screen directly to either the integrated DVD (720 x 480) or USB storage device (in full HD 1920 x 1080).
